“We are pleased to have Josh join the board.  He brings a deep expertise in employment law and the ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act),” said Barbara Gordon, executive director of the ICA.  “These are issues that people with interstitial cystitis encounter.”

In addition to ADA, Stein also has significant experience in advising businesses on compliance with the Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA).  He has also written about topics pertaining to the ADA and disability discrimination.

“My professional interest in disability issues led me to learn about the ICA and the extraordinary work it does,” Stein said.  “I look forward to working with its dedicated board and staff to improve the lives of people living with interstitial cystitis."

Stein is a member of The Association of the Bar of the City of New York’s committee on Legal Issues Affecting Persons with Disabilities.

He received his law degree from Harvard Law School in 2000 and his Bachelor of Science in Industrial and Labor Relations from Cornell University in 1997.

As a member of the Board, Stein will support the ICA’s advocacy, research funding, and education efforts, and work to ensure early diagnosis and optimal care with dignity for people affected by interstitial cystitis, a severely painful and chronic bladder condition affecting as many as 8 million women and 1.5 million men in the United States.
