Shop iGive and Search iSearch.iGive -- And, Help People with IC

Rockville, MD (December 1, 2008) -- Here's a way to help people with IC, every time you shop online or search the web: http://www.iGive.com and http://www.isearch.igive.com

  • Use iGive.com every time you shop online at any of their 736 participating stores and up to 26% of each purchase through iGive helps the ICA and people with IC. Make that first purchase within 45 days and get a bonus $5 donation, too!
  • Make iSearch.iGive your homepage and raise a penny (or more) every time you search.

For a limited time, even window shopping can help! Just create your free iGive account and check out their stores. With 736 stores in the iGive mall and the iSearch.iGive.com search engine, it's easy to find the things you need and raise money that directly helps the more than 1.3 million with IC.

HOW IT WORKS

Step 1:  Shop through iGive.com or search the web using iSearch.iGive: Those are the only ways to generate donations through iGive.com. If you do not go through iGive.com when you shop online, they will not be able to credit the donation to the Interstitial Cystitis Association (ICA) -- the only not-for-profit organization solely dedicated to helping all those living with IC, as well as the healthcare providers and researchers who strive to improve the lives of IC patients.

Step 2: Sit back and let iGive.com track your donations: Charitable donations are tracked automatically. If you make a purchase through iGive, please allow 30 days (after the shipment date) for your donation to be credited. For travel/lodging, please allow 30 days after the travel date. Bookmark your iGive shopping report for a quick list of your shopping donations. Shopping donations are credited automatically for 99% of the participating stores. However, there are exceptions including Amazon.com and some stores that do not offer donations on specific products or services. Check out each store's "exceptions" link in the iGive.com mall to view donation rules and exceptions for that store.

Step 3: Relax as iGive.com mails the donation check to the ICA: Donation checks are mailed every month, for funds calculated 75 days in arrears. The minimum for check issuance is $25 -- if the ICA has not reached the $25 minimum, their funds will roll over to the following month. Bookmark your Interstitial Cystitis Association stats page to see how much the ICA has raised, view a list of donation checks sent to the ICA, and see an estimate of the next check.

Thanks for your generous support of the ICA.  Our ability to continue to be the vital link between patient and healthcare providers and researchers cannot be sustained without your continued support. Learn more about how your donations make a difference -- read recent ICA accomplishments and review the most recent annual report.

The Interstitial Cystitis Association is committed to finding more effective treatments and a cure for interstitial cystitis, an often painful, chronic bladder condition. The ICA promotes and funds research; educates the medical community and public; advocates for IC patients, healthcare providers, and researchers; and offers support for IC patients and their families.
